OUR COMPANY
La Querce Seconda is the last winery in the north of Chianti Classico, marking the northern boundary of the municipality of San Casciano.
A small business run by Niccolò Bernabei and his Swedish-born wife Linda Sandkvist. She came as an au pair in 1998 from Niccolò’s mother, also Swedish. It was her love for her son that won her over and today she has built a family and runs the family business. There are 7 hectares, 3.6 of which are dedicated to the production of Chianti Classico and another small production that falls under the Chianti Colli fiorentini denomination.
About Us
HISTORY AND PASSION
For years Niccolò has dedicated himself to painstaking work in the vineyard, recovering vineyards dating back to 1975 with a predominantly Galestro soil, not heavy with lean clayey marl shale.
In addition to wine, the winery is an agritourism that welcomes tourists. Niccolò studied to be a designer, in fact the labels of the bottles are made by him.
In 1998, before taking over the reins of the family business, which had been left to Niccolò by his mother Monica Edlund, one of the first registered direct growers in Tuscany, the decision was made to take on another rented business that later joined the main farm, becoming also a producer of extra virgin olive oil.
About Us
OUR PRODUCTS
Our olive groves and vineyards are cared for with the utmost attention in order to achieve the highest possible quality while respecting the nature that surrounds us.
In addition to vintage Chianti Classico, Riserva, Gran Selezione, a Chianti and an IGT are produced. Due to its size, the estate enjoys the presence of several “Terroirs”, allowing the production of well characterised wines. Since 2001, the farm’s agricultural production has been certified according to the organic method. By investing in innovative and eco-sustainable methods, we have always believed in producing healthy products in harmony with the environment that surrounds us. “Gourmand” wines, with generous fruit in evidence, but also immediate and pleasant to drink. A classic style that makes them ideal for drinking at the table.
